Marc S. Porter practices real estate and construction law as well as corporate counseling. His expertise includes drafting and negotiating real estate and construction contracts and counseling clients on land use, zoning and development issues. Marc integrates his broad experience of having represented public, private and not-for-profit corporations in complex commercial and industrial land acquisitions and sales with his extensive experience representing clients in arbitration and litigation involving construction disputes, public bidding, zoning, easements and environmental issues.
With more than 41 years of practice, Marc’s real estate experience is complemented by his extensive municipal law experience, having represented the villages of Morton Grove and Franklin Park as well as the Morton Grove and Niles Park Districts. Marc has represented leading private construction and development companies, including Walsh Construction Company of Illinois, William A. Randolph, Inc., Rossi Contractors, Inc. and the Penta Development Group.
Marc represented Kehe Distributors, LLC, a nationwide specialty food distributor, in general corporate, real estate and employment matters for more than 25 years. He also represents many charitable and educational not-for-profit corporations and foundations, including the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, Good for Grades, NFP, Riverside School, NFP, and Woodlawn Foundation, and serves in an advisory capacity to the Midtown Educational Foundation and the Chicago Leadership Forum.
Marc is married, has nine children and lives in Grayslake, Ill.
